2026 LAGERS Annual Meeting

LAGERS Annual Meeting is an opportunity to learn more about your retirement system, connect with LAGERS staff and leadership, and help shape the future of the system by participating in the Board of Trustees election.

Delegate Elections & Appointments

MEMBER DELEGATE ELECTION PROCESS

The member delegate must be an active LAGERS member elected by their peers. Here’s how to complete the election:

  1. Any LAGERS member wishing to serve as a member delegate may express their desire to attend the LAGERS Annual Meeting as their employer’s member delegate.
  2. Each employer, by secret ballot, must allow all LAGERS-covered employees to vote for a member delegate. A simple majority wins. It is crucial to have your election completed before registering for LAGERS Annual Meeting. An employer may only have one member delegate.
  3. An employer official (typically a member of the administration) registers and certifies the member delegate. The certifying official cannot be the member delegate.

EMPLOYER DELEGATE APPOINTMENT PROCESS

The employer delegate should be an appointed member of the employer’s governing body. Here’s how to complete the appointment:

  1. An officer from the employer’s administration notifies the governing body about LAGERS’ upcoming annual meeting. *Click here to download the Annual Meeting Governing Body Flyer, which can be shared with your governing body or included in meeting materials.
  2. During a regularly scheduled governing body meeting, the governing body should appoint an employer delegate from amongst its ranks. This appointment should be made before registering for the annual meeting. Each employer may only have one employer delegate. If no governing body member is available to attend, they may appoint a staff representative to attend and vote in their absence. It is preferred that a governing body member attend.
  3. An employer official registers and certifies the delegate.

NON-VOTING ATTENDEE PROCESS

A LAGERS employer may send as many non-voting attendees as they wish. No appointment or voting is necessary for this delegate type. To ensure an employer is represented during the Board of Trustees election, an employer delegate and a member delegate should be selected and registered before registering non-voting attendees.
